June Koegel, President/CEO
As we embark on another anniversary of the founding of Volunteers of America I am reminded of a quote of Maud Booth that truly frames the work that we do every day.
“A water-lily, while beautiful on the surface, had an arduous path to reach the top. What began as a bud, down in the depths of murky water, had a ray of sunshine penetrate the filth and bring that bud to the surface. All it needed was a powerful light to guide it.”
Be the light for others this Spring!

When she was 17, Maud Elizabeth Charlesworth was arrested for speaking to crowds on women's rights. "Apart from my joy at the glorious work being accomplished, I was also thrilled by the excitement of the police persecution." read Maud's story and our history.
